Circular badge showing emblem and small white shield with a symbol inside, with the words 'Nil Desperandum Auspice Deo' inscribed on a scroll: South Africa 1900-1902. On the reverse: County Borough of Sunderland. Presented to Nursing Sister M. Rogers in appreciation of Services Rendered in South Africa. J.G. Kirtley, Mayor.
