Description
Plaited string object thought to be a candle-holder. Object is made from cardboard and plaited string which is thought to have come from Red Cross food parcels that were distributed to internees at Liebenau Internment Camp.

History
Ilag V Liebenau was an internment camp near Württemberg in Germany that operated during the Second World War from 1940-1945. It was set up by German authorities to hold allied citizens, predominantly women and children, living in occupied territory. The Red Cross provided food parcels to the internees, bulking out their food rations.
