Description
White t-shirt with a small black and white cartoon of a man and woman on the front and a colour cartoons depicting the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami on the reverse. On the right sleeve are the initials PMI and ACEH BESAR. On the left sleeve are the words 'Protecting Human Dignity' in four languages.
This t-shirt was given to Phil Talbot (Former Director of Communications, British Red Cross) by Bill Marsden (a British national living in Indonesia when the Tsunami struck who went on to help set up charity projects) when he visited UK Office in March 2006.

History
On 26 December 2004, a massive earthquake occured in the Indian Ocean, it's epicentre off the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The earthquake generated large Tsunami waves which deverstated coastal communities in 14 countries and killed an estimated 227,898 people.
The British Red Cross' Asia Earthquake and Flood Appeal was launched on the day of the disaster, Boxing Day 2004, and raised £26 million. An additional £59 million was given to the British Red Cross by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
