Description
Framed certificate of appreciation from the city of Bam, Iran, to the British Red Cross, for help after the earthquake in December 2003. Certificate is in an ornate wooden frame and is signed by Mohammad Mousazadeh, Head of State Welfare Organization and Ali Mohammad Rafizadeh, Governor of Bam. The inscription is in both Farsi and English and says the following:

'In the Name of God / British Red Cross / What brings grace and splendor to this life is glorified with people who are like the rain to the / thirsty grounds of this society. This is a delight that only the good are in search of a place to / connect with the golden threads of this compassion in order to ordinate their lives with.'

'This is to thank all the benevolent and eligible members of British RED CROSS who have accompanied the city of Bam after the Dec 26 earthquake and cooperated with the State Welfare / Organization with donation of cash in the favour of affected people (female headed house / holds, disabalds, elderly and orphans). This note of appreciation is dedicated to all of you benevolent / people to esteem your efforts.'
