Description
Red Cross "Pocket" Dental Floss Silk dispenser. Small metal, circular, dispenser. 'Patented Feb 13th 1900. Johnson & Johnson. New Brunswick, NJ.' Johnson & Johnson had been using the red cross at the turn of the 20th century and registered the use of the red cross. On January 5, 1895 an agreement was signed with the American Red Cross to be able to use the red cross in anticipation of legislation being passed dealing with the use of the red cross. Clara Barton, James Wood Johnson and Robert Wood Johnson signed the agreement and paid the fee of $1. The Johnson & Johnson products have no connection to the American Red Cross.
