Description
Small plaque given to the British Red Cross by the Island Development Committee on Madifushi Island. Plaque is without a case and is comprised on a small silver (silver effect) shield mounted on dark plastic? with a stand at the rear. The emblem of the Maldives is at the top with an inscription underneath reading as follows:
'IDC The Madifushi Office Rep of Maldives / A token of gratefulness for the humanitarian service in the need of the hour / 23 June 2008 / British Red Cross Society'

The British Red Cross built 54 houses on Madufushi in the first phase of construction. We also gave $120,500 in cash grants and numerous Disaster Risk Reduction activities.
