Description
Cross-stitched commemorative embroidery, featuring a central panel 'To commemorate around the world the Centenary year of the Red Cross Society 1870-1970'. With 13 panels featuring traditional scenes and national costume from India, Austria, Japan, Spain, Scotland, England, Switzerland, Ireland, Wales, Greece, Italy, France and Holland. Around the edge countries have been embroidered: Australia, Pakistan, E W Germany, Poland, USA, Belgium, Russia, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Sweden, Denmark , Finland, S Africa, Vietnam, S America, Israel, S E Asia, Egypt, China, Canada, N Zealand. Small red cross emblems have been sewn to intertwine a decorative border.
