Description
Mobile VAD Royal Navy car badge displaying the Red Cross emblem in a gold, stylised crest with sail detailing. Background of central design is navy blue and wording on badge reads: 'The British Red Cross; Mobile VAD Royal Navy; Inta Arma Caritas' [Amidst Arms, Charity]. Central design is glass covered and mounted on steel with two holes at the base to enable attachement to car.

Belonged to Margaret Ethel Dorothy Gunn (nee Reeve) was a nursing member, enrolling in December 1939. She was a member of Kent/12 and undertook various duties at the Royal Naval Hospital, Portland, Royal Naval Auxiliary Hospital at Minterne, Royal Naval Hospital Haslar, Royal Naval Hospital Simonstown in South Africa and HMS Cricket. She resigned in April 1945 shortly before getting married.
