History
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been the patron of the British Red Cross since 1952, when he ascended to the throne.
As part of the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2002, a services parade took place on 4 June. The theme was 'yesterday, today and tomorrow' to represent the Queen's 50-year reign. Around 100 British Red Cross volunteers and members of staff represented the organisation in the procession. Some wore modern workwear, while others were in replica Second World War uniforms. The marchers were accompanied by 1950s and modern Land Rovers.
