Description
Quilt comprising of squares and rectangles with signatures embroidered in red around small central emblems. A large central square with the emblem contains the names of officers, including: the President of the Midlothian Branch, Mary Elphinstone; the County Director, Anne Kerr; Margaret Trotter, Assistant County Director; the Hon. Sec. VA Committee, Alice C.A. Gemmell; David Wallace, Red Cross Commisioner, East District; Sidney C. Freeman, Deputy County Director, Edinburgh; Mrs Sceales, Assistant County Director; [Dowager Lady] Clark, Vice President; George Brown, Joint Hon. Secretary, City of Edinburgh Committee; L.L Huchals, Commandant, Cockpew, Red Cross Detachment Midlothian/6.
There is also a square listing the countries of 'The British Empire' the heads of state for 'The Allies; The Battles in 1914and 1915, around the entwined letters 'BRC' and a celtic symbol.
