Award: Oliver Memorial Fund Award 1951 made from bakalite with silver plate. Plaque is inscribed with the following: 'Oliver Memorial Fund Award 1951 awarded to Mrs V Smith, London for service in the field of blood transfusion.'

County Officer Mrs Violet E. Smith (1894 - 1985). Employed by Mr Percy Lane Oliver, OBE circa 1932 in his blood donor service. The first recorded British woman to give 100 donations of blood. This award was given to British subjects whose original work or devoted service in the field of blood transfusion was considered to be an outstanding contribution.
