Description
Silver spoon presented to Miss Fletcher by the Netherland Junior Red Cross in 1949. Hand-written note on box containing spoon reads: 'To Miss Audrey Fletcher, County Director Denbigh Red Cross Headquarters, to whom the gratitude of the Netherlands Junior Red Cross is due for all she has done to make their visit unforgettable. Wilhelmina F.H. ter Brugge 12-8-49'. On the inside of the lid are the printed words: ' Het Nederlandsche Roode Kruis' meaning 'The Dutch Red Cross'. Spoon itself has a rounded bowl and a decorative handle which displays the Red Cross emblem.
