Description
A rectangular shaped linen panel, later mounted on purple raw silk, embroidered with the names of those interred at Changi gaol. The panel was made from material and thread found in the prison workshops when the prisoners were first admitted, covered overall with autograph signatures of the internees and stitched over in coloured silks. They include six women doctors, five matrons and thirty six nursing sisters and other members of the Malayan Medical services. Embroidered in black thread in the top left hand corner is the name of the owner Deborah J Gifford Singapore Feb 1941 Sep 1945.
