Mrs St Clair Stobart led a relief hospital unit from Britain to Serbia in April 1915. Based at Kragujevac, her tented hospital gave aid through a typhoid epidemic and provided roadside dispensaries for the country people. The retreat, in bitter winter weather, took place through the mountains of Montenegro and northern Albania to the coast.
