Description
Small wooden box containing: (1) quantity of syringes, various types, glass and plastic: two in metal cases; two in leather bound cases with red and purple lining; one white cardboard box marked 'for insulin'; four 'Everett' syringes in blue cardboard boxes; one 'Record' syringe in a white cardboard box; one disposable syringe in a paper package; two 'Johnson's' syringes in plastic packages and thirty-six loose syringes of various sizes. (2) quantity of hypodermic syringe needles of various makes: three blue and white cardboard boxes of 'Star Everett'; two metal tins of 'Star Everett'; six green cardboard boxes of 'Sharpoint'; two white cardboard boxes of John Richardson & Co. Leicester; one box od 'Dalmas'; one box of 'Templar'; one box by E.H. Butler & Son; three loose Gilette needles in plastic case; one Johnson's needle from a blister pack of needles and five needles in a blister pack with no make (3) 2 sterilised and packaged surgical blades (4) metal probe. The lid of the box is stamped with the date: '8 Dec 1955' and addressed to Leicester Royal Infirmary sent from Medical and Industrial Equipment Ltd. The under side of the lid bears the address of the company and written in pencil: 'BRCS Medical Hospital Service Reserve.' A later date of '16.10.70 is written on one side.
