Photograph, size A1, of the Changi Quilt. The Changi Quilt - a quilt made up of 66 individually embroidered squares by women internees of Changi prison, Singapore, 1942. Each contributor was asked to put something of themselves into the square as well as embroidering their name. The quilt was given to the military hospital at Changi Barracks and provided a list of names of those who were alive. The quilt was made during the first 6 months of internment. A small embroidered message was attached to the rear stating that it was to be passed to a Red Cross Society at the cessation of hostilities.
