Description
Black and white photograph of a newspaper engraving. Features the hospital launch 'Queen Victoria' commissioned by the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC). The launch was built, manned and run by the Red Cross on the River Nile during the Egyptian Campaign of 1884 to transport comforts and supplies up the Nile to Wadi Halfa and take the wounded back to Cairo.
