Description
Photograph of a press cutting about the naming of the first British air ambulance 'Florence Nightingale' by Mrs Amy Mollison (formerly Amy Johnson) at Hanworth. The air ambulance was owned by the Surrey Branch, Croydon Division of the British Red Cross. The picture shows personnel in uniform surrounding the ceremony and plane and the interior ward of the plane is just visible. The equipment included ice containers, blood transfusion apparatus and an oxygen tent.
