Description
Report for 1974 by Air Chief Marshal Sir Kenneth Cross looking back over the first year for new London Branch following the reorganisation of the County of London Branch and counties surrounding London due to changes in local government boundaries. The report mentions the response to the Moorgate Underground disaster from the City of London Sector. An annual training event had been held on 19 October 1974 which proved to be "timely beyond expectation" as it involved the compilation of a list showing VADs working in the City who could be called upon in case of an emergency. When disaster stuck at Moorgate Underground station the list was ready and 20 VADs were on the scene within minutes.
