Description
Black and white portrait photograph of Margaret Harker. Margaret Coats was born in 1880 in Paisley near Glasgow and married her husband William Harker, High Sheriff of Norfolk. She joined the Red Cross in 1910 and established a detachment at her home at Blofield Hall. She went on to become County Director, Controller and Secretary of the Norfolk Branch and was involved with making improvements to the physical and moral wellbeing of the Scottish fishergirls working in Yarmouth and Lowestoft. There are two stained-glass windows dedicated to Margaret in Blofield church.
