History
The East Lancashire branch was founded on 22 April 1910.

It was dissolved in 1974 in the wake of significant boundary reform. In the reform, the West Lancashire and East Lancashire branches were dissolved, and the area was instead formed into the branches of Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
