Production date

Description
The series is made up of published annual reports and directories for the Dorset Branch of the British Red Cross. RCB 18/1 - 3 are photocopies of reports for the Dorset Branch. All three were published c.1912. RCB 18/1 is a retrospective report for the years 1907-1910 inclusive, RCB 18/2 an annual report for the Sherborne Division of the branch for 1912, and RCB 18/3 is the first annual report for the Dorset Branch. The series contains annual reports / directories for the years 1969-1970/71, 1972/73, 1974/75 & 1977/78-1999/2000.
These documents are variously titled as yearbooks, directories, combined reports and directories for the year concerned, but all contain essentially the same information and serve the same purpose. The only exception to this is for the year 1998-9, where the reports and directory were published as seperate documents - these have the finding numbers RCB 18/29 & RCB 18/30. (described as yearbooks) and directories.
The annual reports contain summaries of the activities and services of the Dorset Branch, including the Junior Department, training, fundraising, welfare, beauty treatments, foot care, the Douglas Bader Sports Club for the disabled, blood donation and photographs. They also report what awards were granted, and many also include the accounts for the year covered in the report.
The directories contain contact information for all branch and divisional officers.
