Blank application form, reference D(8), for Red Cross Squads to undertake first aid duty on the occasion of the Coronation and other processions taking place in June 1911. The form specified what uniform should be worn and the equipment which should be taken. Each squad was made up of at least 8 men and 4 women, under the command of a medical man. The Coronation was the first occasion at which public street duty was undertaken by 390 British Red Cross volunteers. Squads were also provided for processions, a gala performance and fireworks which took place throughout the week.
