The report contains information on: officials; headquarters report; the capital accounts and income and expenditure accounts for the year ending 31 December 1943; Branch reports from the British Isles; the Red Cross in the Empire; and the International Red Cross. The report also contains an account of activities undertaken by each Branch in connection with the War Organisation.
Some of the main events during 1943 were: the resignation of Sir Arthur Stanley as chairman of the executive committee and the appointment of Lord Woolton as his successor; and the decision not to merge the VADs into the ATS.
