Some of the main events during 1994 were: preparing for the 125th anniversary of the British Red Cross; establishing pilot fire victim support schemes; responding to flooding in Strathclyde; working with refugees from the former Yugoslavia; and the introduction of a cross shaped pin for Red Cross Week.
