Some of the main events during 1932 were: the response to an appeal by the Prince of Wales to give assistance to the unemployed through emergency relief or instruction in first aid; the decision by the British Red Cross to organise air ambulance detachments; the formation of a Branch of the British Red Cross in the Gold Coast; and the formation of a Red Crescent Branch in the mandated territory of Iraq.
