Before the first article in the first issue there is a foreword by the Queen Mother, welcoming the News Review and wishing it success for the future. In all 12 issues in this volume there are one or two articles followed by news from British and overseas branches, obituaries and advertisements. The main article in each issue is as follows; issue 1 - the British Red Cross' role in the relief operation for Hungarian refugees, issue 2 - an account of the Christmas celebrations for Hungarian refugees at the camp at the former Grand Duke's Castle in Lichtenstein, issue 3 - the first hand account of a civilian employee of the Suez Contractors Company who was interned in and then expelled from Egypt, issue 4 - mountain rescue in Norway, issue 5 - the small local efforts of the British Red Crosswhich all have Red Cross founder Henri Dunant as the link, issue 6 - Hungarian refugees in Yugoslavia, issue 7 - an introduction to the World Congress and Exhibition of the International Society for the Welfare of Cripples, which was going to be held that month in London, issue 8 - the role the British Red Cross could play in home safety, issue 9 - the voluntary idea against tuberculosis, issue 10 - how to keep well at work (part 1), issue 11 - how to keep well at work (part 2), issue 12 - the role of the Red Cross in providing help for individuals, filling gaps in the Welfare State's services. The last issue also has a Christmas Message from the Princess Royal, the British Red Cross' Commander-in-Chief.
