History
The Southern Rhodesia Branch of the British Red Cross was formed in 1930. Southern Rhodesia, now known as Zimbabwe, gained official independence from Britain in 1980 and the country formed its own recognised independent national society in 1981, named the Zimbabwe Red Cross.
