History
The Newham clinic in East London was one of the first 100 to offer the vaccine. On average, a thousand people a day were vaccinated at this clinic. British Red Cross volunteers were on hand to provide a friendly welcome, explain the process, and give any extra help people needed before and after their vaccination.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the British Red Cross has been on the ground across the UK, supporting people in times of crisis. The Red Cross has reached communities with food, medicine, cash, and emotional support.
Now, as the NHS works to vaccinate millions of people, British Red Cross volunteers will support the ongoing effort. As the vaccine roll-out continues across the country, there is hope on the horizon.
