Description
Louise has included the quote, 'I always wondered why somebody doesn't do something about that. Then I realised I was somebody'. She first heard this quote while working on a different youth project abroad: "There was a final farewell session that we ran, and I shared this quote as a final call to action to the group. Throughout the programme, the young people had learnt how to lead, how to take charge, how to use their voices, and we didn't want them to forget this as they returned to their normal lives."

During her work on the EmpowHER programme, Louise was reminded of the quote as she saw so much growth, confidence, and resilience develop in the young women and girls. She hoped that the young women of EmpowHER would continue to believe in themselves and how to use their voices for positive change.

"My favourite activity that I've run on EmpowHER is about inspirational women, looking at some of the most famous young women around right now, such as Greta Thunberg, Malala Yousafzei, Amika George and more. I always like to get groups to think about how they are similar to these amazing young women. The place that we always come back to is that they are young and they are female, and once upon a time they had an idea that they were passionate about, that they decided to do something about."
