History
The cap takes it's name from the style of headveil worn by Dorothy Pattison, better known as Sister Dora, an Anglican nun and nurse. Dorothy was born in 1832 and worked in Walsall, Staffordshire. She treated thousands of patients during the 1875 smallpox epidemic and was held in particularly high regard with railway workers, having provided care and support to workers who had suffered industial accidents.
