Description
Black and white image depicting part of a German shell. Writing on the obverse side of the image reads 'Part of germ-hun shell taken from shoulder of RFM Shaw, weight four and three quarter ounces. RFM is an abbreviation for the rank of Rifleman and the term 'hun' is a derogatory nickname that was used during the First World War by the English and American officers to describe members of the German Army.
