Black and white photograph with caption: "Scene in a first aid post in London Bridge air raid shelter. More than one thousand persons were sleeping in this tube shelter the night this picture was taken. British Red Cross volunteer nurses operate the post, using American Red Cross medical supplies".





The photograph features two VAD nursing members on duty with one dressing a wrist 'wound' of a male patient.
