Description
Commemorative plate: British Red Cross, Order of St John and British Army of the Rhine. Large circular wooden plate is hand carved and features the Red Cross and Order of St John emblems in the centre. Around the rim of the plate are carved oak leaves, acorns and the words 'H.Q. B.A.O.R.' and 'Bad Oeynhausen' which is a spa town in Germany. On the reverse is the date 1948 written in ink.

Plate is thought to have been given to Ann Hopkin whilst personal assistant to the Chief Welfare Officer during her time with the BAOR Command during 1947-1949.
