History
Insufficient quantities of butter being obtainable, margarine fortified with vitamin A and vitamin D were sent to make up the shortage of fat in camp rations. Dripping in cartons or tins was sent at intervals as a substitute, but discontinued after October 1941, because it did not travel well in cartons.
