Description
Red plastic badge with Red Cross emblem positioned in semi-circle at the top. The main body of the badge is blank although it once had something stuck onto the front of it (name badge?). The badge attaches to clothing by a gold coloured metal pin which is stuck onto the back.

Mrs Emily Powell served with Essex/182 VAD and Essex/188 VAD. This badge is probably a name plate as referred to in a flashes and nameplates circular 134A/73 of 4-12-73 found in Museum and Archives uniform subject file. This circular refers to a new red name plate being introduced and is dated 1 January 1974.
