Description
Enamel chamber pot with wooden surround and four detachable legs, packed in newspaper in a wooden crate which is fastened with two leather straps. The words, 'H[RH]', 'THE QUEEN', 'E.' appear on the outside of the crate. The crate also contains fixings for the legs. The commode was apparently given to Queen Elizabeth, (The Queen Mother) in 1937 in case she should need it should war break out.
