Gwyneth Ceris Jones trained at St Thomas' Hospital, London. She was Matron of the Westminster Hospital c1949-1951, Matron of the Royal London Hospital 1951-1961. Chief Nursing Adviser British Red Cross Society c1962 - 1968. Miss Jones was awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal in 1971
