Description
Mustard baseball cap with embroidered letters 'JakWoe' on left side, 'British Red Cross' on the front, and 'going home' on the right hand side. A zip like fastening on the reverse of hat allows it to be resized.
The hat was worn by the former Chief Executive of the British Red Cross, Sir Nicholas Young, during a trip to Indonisia to visit Red Cross funded projects assisting with the rebuilding of communities following the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami.

History
On 26 December 2004, a massive earthquake occured in the Indian Ocean, it's epicentre off the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The earthquake generated large Tsunami waves which deverstated coastal communities in 14 countries and killed an estimated 227,898 people.
The British Red Cross' Asia Earthquake and Flood Appeal was launched on the day of the disaster, Boxing Day 2004, and raised £26 million. An additional £59 million was given to the British Red Cross by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). This money helped to rebuild communities in the three worst affected countries: Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
