British Red Cross Society embroidery. Large embroidery of the emblem and the words, 'The British Red Cross Society: Inter Arma Caritas' on purple satin.

This embroidery belonged to Mrs M Cooper. It was given to her by the Matron of Littlemore Hospital, near Oxford, in 1920 when Mrs Cooper was dispenser for the hospital aged 20.
