The Jamaica Branch of the British Red Cross was formed in 1948. The country gained independence in 1962 and shortly after formed a recognised independent national society.
The Jamaican Branch provided services such as infant welfare clinics, after care for Tuberculosis (TB) patients, and convalescent homes.
