"Channeling young energy into community service projects is one of the goals of the Red Cross Youth or Junior Red Cross programmes which exist in 108 National Red Cross/Red Crescent/Red Lion and Sun Societies. Through these programmes, young people can not only participate but plan and give leadership to projects in health education, first aid, social welfare, health in the home, accident prevention... For example, Red Cross Youth members in many countries give of their time and skills to help the elderly: visiting them, helping with shopping and household chores, bringing cheer to the lonely. Across the generation gap, Red Cross is, HUMANITY'S BRIDGE"
