Description
Black and white photograph of an etching found in a volume of press cuttings volume of period. Shows a portait of member group of the working committee of the Princess of Wales Branch of the National Society formed in 1885 to provide comforts for the wounded of the army serving in the Egyptian campaign. The ladies are pictured seated round a table with Red Cross papers. They include: the Duchess of Buccleuch; Marchioness of Salisbury; Mrs Harriet Loyd-Lindsay; the Duchess of Marlborough; Mrs Wilton Phipps; Miss Higgins; Miss Morck; Countess of Morley; Lady Louisa Egerton; Countess Brownlow; Princess of Wales (later Queen Alexandra); Countess of Rosebery; and Miss Lucy Cohen.
