The newsletter began its life as a quarterly, entitled 'Hospitals Welfare Services Quarterly Newsletter' (1950-1953). This format proved too expensive and was discontinued after the Spring 1953 issue. It was then replaced by a new format, published under the same title until 1957. The newsletter was then issued twice a year under the title 'Welfare Services Half Yearly Newsletter' (1957-1963). Its final, annual manifestation was entitled 'Service Hospitals Welfare Annual Newsletter' (1963-1980s). The latest issue available in the archive is for 1984, but it is not clear whether this was the final issue.
