Signed minutes of meetings from the twenty-fifth meeting held on 25 November 1914 to the seventy-third meeting held on 25 May 1933.





Matters discussed included: the formation of a Joint Committee with the Order of St John to co-ordinate the response of the two organisations during the [First World] War; the election of Lord Lansdowne as the new chairman; estimated income and expenditure; the formation of a League of Red Cross Societies; the appointment of the Duke of Devonshire as the new chairman in 1921; and the appointment of the Duke of York as the new chairman in 1923.





The volume contains papers presented to the Council including: report from the Scottish Branch and sub-branches committee; report of the Position and Status Committee; articles of agreement dated 8 July 1915 between the Order of St John and the British Red Cross for a Joint Committee; reports on the [First World] War Fund; the Roll of Honourable Service; income and expenditure account for the [First World] War Fund; copy of the supplemental charter granted to the British Red Cross in 1919; statement of purchase for 19 Berkley Street; report on the Star and Garter Home for Disabled Sailors and Soldiers; report from the tenth conference of the Red Cross held in Geneva, 1921; report of a visit to Constantinople, 1922; a pension scheme for headquarters staff; and a report on Kensington Red Cross Physical Treatment Centre, c1927.
