File relating to the purchase and ownership of Ryde Dispensary by the Isle of Wight British Red Cross Society. Includes:





[1]Correspondence with the Charity commission over the sale and registration of the property and the use of the property by the Isle of Wight Red Cross Society. Dated betwen 10 March 1949 and 3 April 1956.


[2] Form requesting an order be made by the charity commission for a Scheme to transfer the building and assets of Ryde Dispensary to the Brtiish Red Cross Society. Dated 6 April 1956.


[3] Forms from the Charity Commission notifying of the preparation of the scheme to regulate the Ryde Dispensary and declarations that the notices were publicly displayed. Dated November 1957 and draft notification.


[4] Two copies of a revised Scheme for the regulation of Ryde dispensary by the Charity Commission. Dated November 1957.


[5] Copy of the Isle of Wight County Press from 8 November 1958 containing the notice of the Scheme (in notices near the back of the paper).


[6] Receipt for payment of invoice relating to the insertion of the notice into the Isle of Wight County Press. Deated 10 November 1958


[7] Letter from the Charity Commission enclosing copies of the Revised draft scheme and issuing instructions for notifying people about the scheme. Dated December 1959.


[8] Application to register Ryde Dispensary as a Charity. Dated April 1960.


[9] Six Copies of the Scheme drawn up by the charity commission regulating Ryde Dispensary covering the charity's adminsitration, trustees, management of land, minutes, accounts, committees and assets. Dated April 1960.


[10] Four copies of an undated draft conveyance between a vendor and the British Red Cross Society. There are no property or vendor details.


[11] Bundle of Correspondence dated between June 1956 and September 1964. Covers the process of transferring the Ryde Dispensary from the truteeship of the Charity Commission to the possession of the British Red Cross Society.
