Branch publications from the Hertfordshire Branch.

Includes:

- 2 copies of a pamphlet "The Red Cross Story" by Barbara Coke. The pamphlet is a sketch/ cartoon history of the movement covering the beginning of the movement; Henri Dunant and the battle of Solferino, the signing of the first Geneva Convention, the principles of the Geneval convention, the International committee of the Red Cross and its work with Prisoners of War, International Tracing and messaging and its guardianship of the Red Cross principles; National Red Cross Societies and their various activities in their own countries and the League of Red Cross societies. Dated 1959

- Souvenir programme from Hertfordshire Red Cross Day, held at North Mymms Park on 29 June 1963 to mark the Red Cross Centenary. The event was attended by the Queen Mother (see RCB/2/4/8/2 for photographs of the celebrations)

- Souvenir book of photographs of the Australian Auxiliary Hospital at Welwyn. The booklet contains photographs of the staff, patients and buildings and was sold in order to raise funds for the British Red Cross Society. Dated 1917.

The Hertfordshire branch was inaugurated on 16 April 1907, the first two detachments of VADs in Hertfordshire were formed in 1910. In 1965 the branches boundaries were redefined. The largest division, Barnet, moved into the Greater London area whilst the Potters Bar division moved from Middlesex into the Hertfordshire branch. In 1975, major reorganisation saw the branch adminstration change from nine divisions into four districts and 33 centres.
