The volume contains minutes of Vice-Presidents meetings dated 10 January 1916 to 13 September 1921, County Committee minutes for 20 December 1921 only and minutes for the Somerset Council from 4 July 1922 to 18 January 1924.
The Somerset Branch County Committee and Joint Voluntary Aid Detachment Committee had various names. It was known as the Vice Presidents Committee up to December 1921, when it was reconstituted as the Somerset Council. In January 1924 the name of Somerset Joint VAD Committee was adopted in response to the new scheme for Voluntary Aid Detachments.
