This file consists of correspondence and related documentation regarding the British Red Cross Society's Aid to China Fund. The Aid to China Fund was established to help with the rehabilitation of hospitals in China through financial grants, and to provide medical and food supplies for the benefit of the people of China after World War Two. The file also contains documentation detailing the work undertaken by British Red Cross nurses and medical teams in China during the war. Included is an 'Address by Dr. W.S. Flowers, M.B., Ch', in which Dr Flowers gives a detailed account of his experiences with a British Red Cross medical team in Burma and Changsha, Hu-Nan, China during 1942-1945. The account details the work undertaken by the team in extremely difficult circumstances and highlights the need for continued physical and financial aid to China to help with the rehabilitation of hospitals.
