Letters to Mrs. Loyd-Lindsay, a note summarizing letter and memo from Henry Brackenbury regarding depots at Arlon, Saarbruck and Remilly; money sent to M. de Montagnac for relief of peasants; an interview with the King; the situation at Metz; a journey to Versailles; services for which he has been created 'Officer de la legion d'honneur.' There are also notes respecting the wearing of foreign orders and a description by a 'French lady' of a day spent at Villeneuve St George before the outbreak of war. 4 October-11 February
